  3. Nominated as chairperson of the IMIA (www.imia.org) Working group for TeleHealth for 2010 – 2013. Now elected to step down to co-chair to fulfil above duties
  4. Have made an EMR application Medic Aid . The Copyright of which has now been handed over free of cost to a family owned company – AMLA MEDIQUIP (www.amlamed.com) However they have been asked to provide this software to others at extremely low cost to which they are complying to
    • A variant- Rheum Aid. This has recently been awarded as the best IT project implementation among SME centre for 2012 by PC Quest magazine – see http://pcquest.ciol.com/content/contentimplementation2012/2012/112070411.asp
    • ICD 10 coding is part and parcel of all the products produced under this as well as links and possibility to create customized codes
    • Main thrust of programming is on SQL and Power Builder though have tinkered a little with all including Java script, C++, VB and more
  5. Have published articles on programming issues in various Medical Informatics as well as IT Journals – see sbgogia.ulitzer.com
  6. Started working with Telemedicine since 2003 and finding that Telemedicine is not coming up to it promised potential started Society for Administration of Telemedicne and Medical Informatics (SATHI - www.sathi.org) in 2005 and continue to be president of the same
  7. S.A.T.H.I. has been developing Telemedicine solutions for various needs
    • Most famous has been - providing telemedicine based Mental Health support for the Tsunami victims. The methodology adopted being need based has been rated as the way forward for future eHealth projects. The same has been published (see above)

    • Current activities of SATHI
    • Telemedicine Based Vision Care Centres (already present at 10 places in Mizoram) where trained OAs give supportive care and fix appointments for eye problems in the absence of an eye surgeon. We have showcased huge benefits mainly through decreasing and sometimes obviating a need for travel
    • Telemedicine Based Limb Care Clinics –Trial centres at AIIMS as Well as Goa Medical Centres are running. More are under discussion
    • Training videos for Plastic Surgeons
    • Developing low cost Connectivity options including for Video Conferencing
  8. Active member of the National Taskforce for Telemedicine made under the aeges of Ministry of Health Government of India
  9. Past President of Indian Association for Medical Informatics for 2 terms 2006 till 2009
